Coding-Decoding — Quick Overview

Letters/numbers are coded by a pattern. Find the rule and decode. 3-4 questions typical.

Key Formula

Letter position: A=1, B=2...Z=26 | Reverse: A=26, B=25... | Shift: each letter +2 or -3

Exam Tip

Write the alphabet with position numbers first. Check if it's a forward shift, backward shift, or reversal.

Common Trap

After Z comes A again (circular). If E is coded as H (+3), then W is coded as Z, X is A (not AA).
